What is GCEI and What are its goals?

In a remarkable stride toward environmental responsibility, the Eco Club and GCEI team of Doon International Public School, Rishikesh, carried out a series of impactful initiatives that inspired awareness and action among students. From designing and installing a functional Rainwater Harvesting Plant on campus to organizing a Cleanliness Drive near the Barrage in collaboration with the Himadri Foundation, students actively engaged in restoring their surroundings and promoting sustainable practices. Their Miyawaki Plantation Drive turned a small patch of land into a vibrant mini forest of native species, giving students hands-on experience in ecological restoration. Equally meaningful was the “Save Dolphin” campaign, where students learned about the endangered Ganges River Dolphin through a documentary, expressed their concern through art, and pledged to safeguard aquatic life. Together, these activities not only strengthened students’ understanding of environmental conservation but also ignited a deeper sense of responsibility, proving that young minds can be powerful catalysts for a greener and more mindful tomorrow.
