Junior and Senior Annual Athletics Meet

Doon international Public schoolorganised its 18th Annual Sports Meet for junior and senior wings of the school on Wednesday to Thursday, 13th & 14th November 2024.The event took place In the spacious main playground of the School. The campus Director Mr. Sanjay Kuqsal was present as the guest for this occasion. The Principal Dr. Tanuja Pokhariyal, school coordinator Mr. Triloki Nath Bhardwaj and Primary coordinator Mrs. Shikha Batra Bhandari were also present there. Ex Service man Mr. Jagdish Singh Rawat & NCC cadet Mr. Nitin Bahuguna were also present on that day. The inaugural ceremony startedthe events of the day at 9:30 a.m. The Principal welcomed The Campus Director Mr. Sanjay Kuqshal with the gift of planter embellished with the school logo. On the other hand School coordinator Mr. Triloki Nath Bhardwaj welcomed Ex. Service man Mr. Jagdish Singh Rawat and NCC cadet Mr. Naresh Bahuguna with the gift of planter.

After the school song sung by the school choir, the Athletics Meet torch was lit by the Principle Dr. Tanuja Pokhariyal and handed over to the sports captain Maan Rawat along with Khushi Rana Both the sports captain there after took one round of the track with the lit torch, and then placed the torch on a torch stand. This was followed by March Pastby all four houses Agni, Akash, Pawan and Prithvi, to the beats of drum. The salute was taken by the everyone Seated on the stage. The oath to all participants was appropriated by the second sports captain, Khushi Rana. They grimly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship.

After that students from grade 4th to 9th did a Taekwondo display.Our sports teacher, Mr. B.P Khanduri jumped across the ring of fire & Ravi Sir also performed Taekwondo. The campus Director addressedthe gathering and emphasized the importance of sports in life and declared the 18th Annual Athletic Sports Meet of D.I.P.S 2024 officially Open. After that, student from the different houses completed against each other in more 40 events over the next two days.

The event included several races such as 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres and juniormix relay race, junior hurdle race, and senior relay race in both junior and senior category and for both girls and boys.The entire participant took part in event with great eagerness and enthusiasm. After all the field events were over it was time for prize distribution. The campus Director, the Principal, school coordinator and Primary school coordinator awarded medals and certificate to the winners of track events.

After that, the houses were awarded points based on performance in a whole years and Central criteria in the end the overall trophy was won by Pawan House.

After the award distribution ceremony our Campus Director delivered the short speech to the students explaining the signification ways to student explaining the remarkableness of discipline and sports in student’s life.

The Annual Athletic Meet 2024 was grand successful of championship and sportsmanship moreover, such event play a important role in promoting qualities such as the teamwork and leadership in our students.

In the end, The Principal addressed the students and the staff, appreciating the efforts and enthusiasm of all the students towards the event, and congratulated the winning students and the winning house for all their efforts.

As the program drew to a close, the sports HOD Jyoti Kalura, proposed a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly. She acknowledged the contributions of each and every person involved in the mega-event and also make the mega event possible. After that The Campus Director declared Meet officially closed. He handed over the school flag to the Sports Captain Maan Rawat for next year. The proceeding concluded with the harmonious rendition of the National Anthem.
